<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high pressure pump for securing proper operation, by preventing temperature of fuel in a variable volume chamber from becoming high to prevent vaporization of the fuel. <P>SOLUTION: A gas chamber 32 arranged adjacent to the variable volume chamber 30 of the high pressure pump 1, is constituted of an inside shielding wall 33 adjacent to the variable volume chamber 30, a seal element 25 as an outside shielding wall and nitrogen gas 35 sealed in a space sandwiched by the inside shielding wall 32 and seal element 25. Heat conduction to the fuel in the variable volume chamber 30 is cut off by the nitrogen gas 35 in the gas chamber 32, and the vaporization of the fuel is prevented by preventing the temperature of the fuel from becoming high. The elastically deformable inside shielding wall 33 adjacent to the fuel in the variable volume chamber 30 functions as a pulsation damper to the fuel in the variable volume chamber 30, and reduces pressure pulsation of the fuel in the variable volume chamber 30. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
