<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bill carrier allowing miniaturization in a configuration wherein a bill is carried by a belt, and to provide a tension adjustment mechanism and a tension adjustment method for the belt, and an installation method for the bill carrier. <P>SOLUTION: In this bill carrier 7, one endless flat belt 22 is hung and wound between a pair of support rollers 21 in an arrangement direction (a prescribed direction X) of a plurality of game stands 1 in a bank A of game machines. In the bill carrier 7, a motor 33 rotates and moves the flat belt 22, so that a bill S pinched between the flat belt 22 and guide rollers 27 is carried along the flat belt 22. In the bill carrier 7, by using the flat belt 22 which has a smaller pulley diameter than a round belt or the like and is easy to transmit drive, the small-diameter support rollers 21 can be used.
