CULTURE MEDIUM FOR PLANT CULTIVATION

A culture medium for plant cultivation, which contains an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer chip. It is preferable that the ethylene content of the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer contained in the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer chip is 20-60% by mole. It is also preferable that the water content in the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer chip is 20-300 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer. Consequently, there can be provided a culture medium for plant cultivation, which can be used in place of soil or rock wool and is capable of sufficiently growing a plant. The culture medium for plant cultivation has excellent recyclability, while being able to be easily processed when discarded. In addition, the culture medium for plant cultivation places little burden on the environment.
