PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device which displays an image with proper display luminance and reduces power consumption as much as possible.

SOLUTION: The display device for displaying a program comprises: a display mode determination part for determining a display mode; a program information retrieval part for retrieving program identification information for identifying the program; and a memory part which stores a user setting file indicating correspondence of the program identification information, the display mode, and an energy conservation setting item serving as an index for adjusting display luminance. When the energy conservation setting item corresponding to the pair of the program identification information and the display mode is included in the user setting file, the display luminance is adjusted on the basis of the energy conservation setting item.
