<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods involving avoiding adverse drug interactions with pirfenidone and CYP inducers, such as smoking. <P>SOLUTION: The invention generally relates to improved methods for administering pirfenidone to a patient in need of pirfenidone therapy, and to methods for preparing or packaging pirfenidone medicaments, containers, packages and kits.
