ACRYLIC ACID, WATER-ABSORBENT POLYMER STRUCTURE BASED ON RENEWABLE RAW MATERIAL, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE STRUCTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer, particularly, a super absorbent having an extremely low content of a component that is extractable and shows toxicity.

SOLUTION: A method of producing an acrylic acid includes steps of: (a) dehydrating glycerin to form a dehydration product containing acrolein; (b) oxidizing the dehydration product in a gas phase to obtain a monomer gas containing acrylic acid; (c) bringing the monomer gas into contact with a quenching means to obtain a quenched phase containing the acrylic acid; and (d) processing the quenched phase to obtain a monomer phase containing the acrylic acid.
