<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting apparatus that can automatically detect failure or non-failure of a human detecting sensor. <P>SOLUTION: A lighting apparatus 10 comprises: a lighting circuit unit 2 for turning on lighting of a light source portion 1; a human sensing unit 3 for detecting existence of a human H and outputting a detection signal; and a controller 4 for controlling the lighting circuit unit 2 upon reception of the detection signal from the human sensing unit 3 so that the lighting circuit unit 2 turns on the lighting of the light source unit 1. The human sensing unit 3 can detect variation of at least one state from lighting to lights-out or from lights-out to lighting of the light source portion 1 and outputs a detection signal on the basis of the detection. When the controller 4 outputs to the lighting circuit unit 2 a control signal for controlling the light source portion 1 to at least one of lighting and lights-out, the controller 4 determines failure of the human sensing unit 3 if there is no detection signal from the human sensing unit 3 within a predetermined time from the output of the control signal for controlling the light source portion 1 to lighting or lights-out. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
