<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a vinyl chloride polymer without discoloration and with high thermal stability by reducing abnormal structure, the cause of the deterioration in thermal stability. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing a vinyl chloride polymer by polymerizing a vinyl chloride monomer in the presence of a radical initiator and a compound represented by general formula (1) is provided. In general formula (1), Z is a substituent selected from the group consisting of a hydroxy group, a carboxy group, a 2-300C polyalkylene oxide group, and an organic group selected from a 1-20C alkoxy group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, an acyloxy group, an acyl group, a carbamoyl group, an alkylsulfanyl group, an arylsulfanyl group, an amino group, an alkyl group, an aryl group, and an allyl group; and R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>is a functional group represented by general formula (2). In general formula (2), R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">3</SP>are each independently a hydrogen atom or a 1-3C alkyl group; and R<SP POS="POST">4</SP>is a 1-20C hydrocarbon group. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
