<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer, a control program, and an editing program, readily dividing one block into two blocks at a user's intended position. <P>SOLUTION: A dividing position which is a position on print data corresponding to a designated position between characters used for dividing one block into two blocks is specified. Partial data which is data up to firstly existing data out of final character data, line feed data, and block feed data of the print data in data behind character data directly after the dividing position per a plurality of pieces of line data is cut off from the character data directly after the dividing position (S22) and is stored (S23). The line feed data is input into the dividing positions other than that on the final line (S25).
