<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine that executes a game performance according to symbols, improves the interest of a player, and prevents the number of control commands from being increased. <P>SOLUTION: A CPU for main control determines in advance whether or not a jackpot occurs on the basis of a value of a random number for jackpot determination when entry of a ball into an upper start winning pocket is detected, to output a variation read-ahead command [D30xH] when the result of the prior determination is affirmative, and determines in advance whether or not a jackpot occurs on the basis of the value of the random number for the jackpot determination when entry of a ball into a lower start winning pocket is detected, to output a variation read-ahead command [D31xH] when the determination result of the prior determination is affirmative.
