<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gauge control device for a cold tandem mill which suppresses variation in sheet thickness without performing decelerated rolling. <P>SOLUTION: The gauge control device is installed between stands, and includes: a first support roll for holding the pass line on the outlet side of the stand of a preceding stage; a second support roll for holding the pass line on the inlet side of the stand of a poststage; a movable roll which is pushed into between the first and the second support rolls from the side opposite from the first and second support rolls across the pass line; a screw-down device for screwing down the movable roll; a sheet thickness estimating means for estimating the sheet thickness on the outlet side of the stand of the poststage on the basis of the sheet thickness obtained from a sheet thickness meter installed on the outlet side of the stand of the preceding stage and the sheet speed obtained from sheet speed meters installed on the inlet side and the outlet side of the stand of the poststage respectively; and a screw-down control means for performing screw-down control of the screw-down device in accordance with the sheet thickness on the outlet side which is estimated by the sheet thickness estimating means. The length of a rolled stock between the stands is adjusted by the screw-down control performed by the screw-down control means, and consequently tension or the sheet speed on the inlet side of the stand of the poststage is controlled, so that the sheet thickness on the outlet side of the stand of the poststage is controlled. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
