<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnet structure capable of reducing weight of an objective lens drive device and having high drive accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: The magnet structure for an objective lens drive device according to the present invention includes a lens holder for holding an objective lens, and drive coils placed outside the lens holder. The magnet structure for an objective lens drive device drives the lens holder in a focus direction and a tracking direction by interaction between magnetic poles provided to the lens holder and magnetic fields generated by electric conduction to the drive coils. The lens holder as a whole is composed of a substantially cubic bond magnet, and each of its four sides other than a side for placing the objective lens is formed with at least two different magnetic poles.
