<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel pipe pile capable of reducing labor hours for construction and supporting a reinforcing bar cage to surely fix its position, with larger bearing force in the horizontal direction, and a pile foundation construction method using the steel pipe pile. <P>SOLUTION: A steel pipe pile includes a vertically extending hollow pipe body 3 of which an upper part and a lower part are separated by a partition plate 33. The lower part has a tubular wall 32 provided with a plurality of communication holes 35 which allow for communication between the inside and outside of the hollow pipe body 3. The hollow pipe body 3 has an upper end which is sealed with a cap 31. A pile foundation construction method comprises the steps of inserting the pile into concrete placed in a pile hole, removing the cap after curing of the concrete, and placing the concrete after insertion of a reinforcing bar cage, so that the connection to the upper part is easily performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
