<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of suppressing reduction in use efficiency of illuminating light and further suppressing heating of a light shielding device in a case where an excellent image is obtained by using the light shielding device capable of adjusting a light shielding state in order to enhance contrast. <P>SOLUTION: In a case where a light shielding state is adjusted by a light controlling mechanism 31 in order to enhance contrast, a state of a luminous flux passing through the light controlling mechanism 31 is adjusted by moving a condenser lens 22 that is an optical configuration member disposed from a light source device 21 of an illumination optical system 20 to both lens arrays 24 and 25 and a superimposing lens 27 of a uniformizing optical system along an optical axis direction of the luminous flux by a lens driving device 81a according to a change of the light shielding state. Hereby, reduction in use efficiency of illuminating light emitted from the illumination optical system 20 can be suppressed and heating of the light controlling mechanism 31 can be suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
