<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for detecting steel sheet-passing failure, capable of performing the sheet-passing failure detection in a highly reliable rough rolling machine. <P>SOLUTION: The rolling load of a rough rolling stand R2 in a rough rolling machine 5 of a hot rolling line is measured by a load cell, and material clogging at an exit-side in the rough rolling stand R2 is detected based on the time variation ΔP of the rolling load. Taking into account the fact that when material clogging occurs, the rolling load rapidly increases or decreases, when the time variation P of the rolling load is out of an allowance, it is determined that material clogging occurs, and the operation of hot rolling line is emergency-stopped on the basis of such determination. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
