<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently cool each portion in a case in an apparatus for cooling a unit, having a heater disposed in the vicinity and a power element housed in the case. <P>SOLUTION: With the disposition of a cooler 34 having fins 34a, 34b on two points of a surface, for cooling an inverter 12 by introducing cooling water from a cooling water pipe 32, there are also disposed an intake fan 44 for taking in air from an intake port 41 provided on a surface of a case 18 opposite to an engine, so as to feed the air to the fin 34a of the cooler 34, and an exhaust fan 46 for ejecting air passing through the fin 34b of the cooler 34 out of an exhaust port 48 provided on an engine-side surface. The inverter 12 and the cooler 34 are laid out in such a manner that air taken in from the intake port 41 is ejected from the exhaust port 48 through the intake fan 44, the fin 34a of the cooler 34, the inverter 12 and a motor ECU 14, the fin 34b of the cooler 34 and the exhaust fan 46.
