A heating cooker provided with a steam generating device for generating steam by heating water by means of a steam generating heater (24), a heating chamber for heating an object to be heated by means of the steam supplied from the steam generating device, a heater (26) for heating the object to be heated within the heating chamber, and a control device (200) for controlling the steam generating device and the heater (26). The control device (200) has a heater control means (200b) for intermittently turning on the heater (26) such that dew does not form on the surface of the heater (26) during steam cooking in which an object to be heated is heated by means of the steam supplied from the steam generating device. As a consequence, a heating cooker capable of preventing rust from forming on the heater is provided by not allowing dew to form on the surface of the heater during steam cooking using steam.
