PURPOSE: An optical waveguide having metal wires and a generation method of gap surface plasmon using the same are provided to produce a laser having a bandwidth of more than 1 micrometers. CONSTITUTION: An optical waveguide having metal wires is composed of a dielectric layer(110) and two metal wires(120). A metal substrate is formed on the bottom of the dielectric layer to be removable when an optical mode is switched. The metal wires are formed in the dielectric layer and receive light. When the metal wires are close to each other, the metal wires are operated as a directional coupling device. The metal wires focus the received light on the gap between the metal wires. |
