<p>Preserving semi-finished leather comprises: (a) providing the semi-finished leather that was not treated with a biocide; (b) applying a composition comprising at least one biocide on at least one side of the semi-finished leather with a coating unit; and (c) optionally drying the preserved semi-finished leather.
