The invention relates to a protective cap (16) for the free end of a drive output shaft (10), having a threaded journal (14) and a cone (12), wherein the protective cap (16) has, at the outward-facing end side, an opening (40) which is adjoined radially at the outside by a collar (24) which forms a shoulder for a radially acting sealing ring (26), while the opposite shoulder is formed by a sleeve (28, 30) which is inserted into the protective cap (16) and fastened in the protective cap (16). It is proposed that said protective cap (16) has guide elements (30, 34, 38) which become active during assembly before the free end of the drive output shaft (10) reaches the sealing ring (26). |
