To construct a data driver which is not easily affected by variations in transistor characteristics, a plurality of coupling capacitances are connected to a data enable line which may be set to at least two voltages. A plurality of bit transistors which are turned on and off in accordance with the display data of a plurality of bits controls the connection between the plurality of coupling capacitances and data enable line to control the total capacitance of the plurality of coupling capacitances. The display element operates in accordance with the voltage accumulated to the total capacitance of the coupling capacitance according to the difference between the two voltages which may be set on the data enable line. By the operations above, a display is controlled by multi-bit display data for each pixel. |
