<p>The disclosure relates to fusions of enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) polynucleotides and polypeptides. In one example, a toxiod heat-labile (LT) and heat-stable (STa) fusion is described. This fusion may include LT with a substituted amino acid at position 192, a linker, and STa with a substituted amino acid at positions 11, 12, 13, or 14. Further provided are vaccines containing the disclosed fusions. Example methods for administering to a subject the disclosed vaccines and using the fusions and vaccines to reduce or eliminate contamination of a food or water supply are additionally contemplated.</p> |
