A compressed gas cylinder charging plant comprises a plurality of arcuately spaced charging stations 61, a radial conveyer 4 pivoted at one end about the arc centre 9 and adapted at the other end to register with each station in turn and means, e.g. a turntable 3 and a jack actuated arm 23 for transferring an empty cylinder 2 from an input conveyer 1 to the radial conveyer 4 whereby each station 6 may be supplied with an empty cylinder. The time taken to feed each of the six stations shown is arranged to be that required for the filling of a single cylinder and each cylinder when full is transferred by a conveyer 5 to a chain conveyer 7 and to a roller output conveyer 8 running part a check and weighing attachment 29. In a modification the turntable is eliminated and empty cylinders are pushed from an arcuate feed conveyer on to the radial conveyer by a jack mounted thereon.</p> |
