<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system whose purge amount can be set appropriately even if electric power generation current changes during the purge, and to provide a method for operating it. <P>SOLUTION: Possible purge amount is computed on the basis of air flow rate which is detected with a flow rate sensor 35 and air temperature which is detected with a temperature sensor 34. When it is decided that a purge valve 28 is opened, purge request amount is computed on the basis of the power generation current which is detected with an electric current sensor 51 and temperature of anode offgas which is detected with a temperature sensor 29. In case that the power generation current falls during the purge, the purge valve 28 is closed at the time that purge execution amount reaches the possible purge amount. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
