<p>[Problem] To simplify processing on the receiving side. [Solution] A subtitle processing unit (123) converts 2D-image subtitle data into 3D-image subtitle data corresponding to a transmission format of 3D-image data. On the receiving side, display data of a left-eye subtitle superimposed onto left-eye image data held in the 3D-image data, and display data of a right-eye subtitle superimposed onto right-eye image data held in the 3D-image data, can easily be produced on the basis of the 3D-image subtitle data, and processing is simplified. Aside from the 3D-image data and the 3D-image subtitle data, display control information including region information of sub-regions that are set as display regions of the left eye and the right eye, target frame information, and parallax information, is transmitted. Parallax applied to subtitles of the left eye and the right eye can be dynamically altered according to differences in image content. Shift information is generated with sub-pixel accuracy.</p> |
