<p>A CMOS pixel sensor with local analogue storage in each pixel circuit for capturing frames in quick successionPhotodiode output signals for successive global shuttered frames are stored in respective storage elements M8 and M12 within each pixel so that two frames may be captured in rapid succession for subsequent readout. The ability to capture two images in very quick succession allows improved detection and compensation of rapidly time-varying ambient light, such as light from mains-powered lamps. Motion detection is also improved. The image sensor may be used in a touch screen to control a computer or other apparatus such as a phone, camera, or remote controller.</p> |
