The dishwasher has a cutlery basket, which is fitted with a cutlery piece, which is brought into contact with an insert (3) arranged in the cutlery basket. A base wall (10) or a side wall (2) of the cutlery basket has an outlet opening (12), which is opened and closed by an adjustable closing part (17). The closing part is adjustable in the level of the base wall or the side wall or in a plane parallel to the level of the side wall or the base wall. An independent claim is also included for a cutlery basket system for a dishwasher.
