PURPOSE: A separator for lithium secondary batteries and a lithium secondary battery including the same are provided to improve safety and lifetime of the lithium secondary batteries and to obtain high voltage characteristics. CONSTITUTION: A separator for lithium secondary batteries(22) comprises a polyethylene based or a polypropylene based base film(221) and polyethylene based powder or polypropylene based powder coated within, on top of, or both inside and outside the base film (222). The polyethylene based powder or the polypropylene based powder has different component from the base film. The polypropylene based powder or the polyethylene based powder has an average molecular weight of 3,000-5,000. The base film has air gaps. The powder has the smaller average particle diameter than the average diameter of the air gaps. |
