REINFORCED FRAC TUBING HEAD

A reinforced wellhead member (10) for use during fracing operations. The wellhead member (10) is preloaded at a flange section (66) by creating compressive stresses via a ring (70) that interacts with a tightening nut (64) on a bolt (62). The bolt (62) is rigidly attached to an adapter (60) which may also be modified to create stresses on the flange (66) of the wellhead member (10). The induced stresses counter the tensile stresses experienced by the flange (66) during fracing operations, allowing a standard wellhead member (10) to be utilized.
