The invention relates to foundry engineering. An installation for preparation and electromagnetic casting of aluminum alloys into molds comprises a crucible with a U-shaped horizontal channel covered by an inductor with a coil, which is powered by alternating current, a vertical drain launder connected by the lower end to the vertical working area of channel, and by the upper end – to a mold, an electromagnet covering the working area, has two coils powered by alternating current, with a common open magnetic core and poles located at the right angle to each other. The U-shaped horizontal channel has two vertical chambers located from both sides of the drain launder, while the lower parts of both chambers are connected to the channel cavity, and between them the chambers are connected by the working area. Such design of the channel in the disclosed installation allows to introduce alloying and refractory modifying elements in order to intensify the dissolution directly in the channel chamber where there is a zone of maximum temperature of liquid metal. The alloy components are subject to intense impact of a number of magnetic hydraulic dynamic factors that increase the rate of dissolution of refractory elements in the alloy. |
