NONCONTACT SPINDLE FOR SINGLE CRYSTALCUTTING MACHINE

A noncontact spindle for single crystal cutting machine comprises a horizontally located shaft with a flange, whereon a drum with cutting instrument is fixed. The shaft is manufactured in the form of a wide ring – with an axial hole and reduced length. The shaft external diameter is equal to the diameter of flange. The internal diameter of shaft is less than the internal diameter of flange. A gasostatic bearing support is located on the internal shaft surface; the fixed portion is separated from the shaft by an air gap. On the shaft external surface a ring system with constant magnets is fixed, which provides rotation of the shaft with drum via a stator. The invention provides increase of operation life and reliability of the spindle and the single crystal cutting machine.
