METHOD FOR DETERMINATION OF MAGNETIC SUSCEPTIBILITY OF MAGNETIC LIQUIDS

A method for measurement of magnetic susceptibility of magnetic liquids includes placement of the sample with magnetic liquid in non-uniform magnetic field of electric magnet, determination of difference of weight of the sample without field and at presence of field and determination by that difference by calibration curves of the value of magnetic susceptibility of magnetic liquid. On the pan of electronic balance one installs by means of a support a magnetic system at distance that exceeds characteristic length of attenuation of its magnetic leakage field. One determines total weight of magnetic system and the support without the sample with magnetic liquid in active zone of magnetic system. Without mechanical contact with magnetic system in its active zone one places a sample with magnetic liquid and determines total weight of magnetic system and the support at presence of the sample. By difference of two measurements of weight of magnetic system with support one determines by calibration curves the value of magnetic susceptibility of magnetic liquid with possibility of determination of character of variation of this value in time.
