This wireless communication system (1) controls the transmission timing in each cell in a manner so that the control channel of a first cell and the data channel of a second cell overlap temporally. The first control unit (100a) notifies a second cell base station of information used in identifying resources that are of the control channel of the first cell and that correspond to a predetermined resource unit. The first communication unit (100b) transmits a control signal to a first cell mobile station using a first resource that is of the first cell control channel, is to be decoded by the first cell mobile station, and corresponds to at least a portion of the predetermined resource unit.
