<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for handy digital image capture and processing to support multilayer module type software and plug-in expansible architecture. <P>SOLUTION: A system for digital image capture and processing can be implemented as an image fetching mobile phone, a digital camera, a video camera, a mobile arithmetic terminal, and a portable data terminal (PDT) including a suitable hardware platform, a communication protocol, and a user interface. A configuration file for controlling (namely, adjusting) multiple third party plug-ins includes a conditional programming logic for chaining (namely, ordering) the multiple third party plug-ins.
