摘要

An image display device causes a plurality of laser light sources to emit light, and displays an image corresponding to inputted image data. The state of deterioration of each laser light source is determined by a method such as detecting the laser output. The tone of the image to be displayed is changed and the image is displayed on the basis of the state of deterioration of the light sources to be used. Hence, when the deterioration of some of the laser light sources is severe and use thereof is not possible, or light emission efficiency is declining, display of the image is continued through changing the tone by stopping the light sources that are unusable and reducing the output power.
