<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an equipment control device which can easily register electric equipment to be controlled. <P>SOLUTION: A monitor device 8A is the equipment control device which is installed in a house 2 and controls electronic equipment installed in the house 2 through a mobile phone 9 outside the house 2, and includes an instruction acquisition part 41A which acquires control instructions to the electric equipment from the mobile phone 9 through a communication network 11; a signal generation part 42A which generates a remote control signal for remotely controlling the electric equipment based upon the control instructions that the instruction acquisition part 41A acquires; a signal transmission part 32AT which transmits the remote control signal that the signal generation part 42A generates to the electric equipment; and an equipment specification part 43A which specifies the type of the electric equipment installed in the house 2. The equipment specification part 43A transmits a plurality of remote control signals differing in object equipment from the signal transmission part 32AT, and specifies types of pieces of electric equipment based upon detection results of responses of the pieces of electric equipment to the respective remote control signals. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
