PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide magenta toner having a wide color reproduction area of a blue region.

SOLUTION: Magenta toner contains a binder resin including a polyester resin having a dodecenylsuccinic acid structure as a constituent unit, and a solid solution of C.I. pigment violet 19 and C.I. pigment red 122. The content of the solid solution relative to the total mass of the toner is 2 mass% or more and 30 mass% or less.
