The objective of the present disclosures is to provide an absorbent article having a low production cost and having a predetermined pattern visible from both a top sheet side and a back sheet side. The absorbent article has the following configuration. The absorbent article contains: a liquid-permeable top sheet; a liquid-impermeable back sheet; and an absorbent sheet between the top sheet and the back sheet. The absorbent article is characterized by: the absorbent sheet having a first surface, which has a colored section, and a second surface at the reverse side from the first surface and at which the colored section of the first surface shows through; and the colored section disposed at the first surface of a region adjacent in the thickness direction of the absorbent article to the region closest to the top sheet of the absorbent sheet showing through from the top sheet side of the absorbent article, and/or the colored section disposed at the first surface of a region adjacent in the thickness direction of the absorbent article to the region closest to the back sheet of the absorbent sheet showing through from the back sheet side of the absorbent article.
