<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a solid oxide fuel battery system for efficiently separating/recovering CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>from a solid oxide fuel battery and an operation method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a system for separating/recovering CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>from a solid oxide fuel battery, in which the solid oxide fuel battery is constructed of two stages, where in a stage following a regular power generation cell of the solid oxide fuel battery installed in a pre-stage is disposed a simulated solid oxide fuel battery cell for oxidizing hydrogen and CO present in an anode off-gas, the anode being composed of a solid oxide. Thus, in the system for separating/recovering CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>from the solid oxide fuel battery, anode off-gas discharged from the regular power generation cell of the solid oxide fuel battery installed in the pre-stage is forcibly oxidized.
