<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of manufacturing a display device having high image quality and high reliability at low cost with high yield. <P>SOLUTION: In the present invention, spacers are formed on a pixel electrode layer in a pixel region and on an insulating layer functioning as a partition wall which covers the periphery of the pixel electrode layer. When a light emitting material is formed on the pixel electrode layer, a mask for selective formation is supported by the spacers, so that the mask is prevented from being brought into contact with the pixel electrode layer due to a twist and deflection thereof. Accordingly, damages such as a crack by the mask are not caused in the pixel electrode layer, and the pixel electrode layer does not have shape defects.
