Provided is a refrigeration cycle device capable of extending the duration of cooling. The refrigeration cycle device comprises: a refrigeration cycle (FC) in which a compressor (10), a condenser (20), an expander (30), and an evaporator (40) are sequentially connected in a loop by a refrigerant flow path (50); a fluid reservoir (70) provided on the downstream side of the evaporator (40) and capable of retaining a refrigerant and supplying the refrigerant to the evaporator (40); a fluid refrigerant detection device (102) for detecting the amount of the fluid refrigerant retained in the fluid reservoir (70); a refrigerant flow path cutoff valve (60) provided between the expander (30) and the evaporator (40) and opening or closing the refrigerant flow path (50); and a control device (100) for, when the compressor (10) is driven, opening the refrigerant flow path cutoff valve (60) and for, when the compressor (10) is stopped, closing the refrigerant flow path cutoff valve (60) according to the detection by the fluid refrigerant detection device (102).
