<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resist the entry of oil into a breather chamber and into a gas exhaust pipe in the condition that an internal combustion engine has a high revolving speed when working. <P>SOLUTION: In this breather chamber structure for the internal combustion engine (2) for performing gas-liquid separation in the breather chamber (31) provided in a cylinder head cover (16) and exhausting unburnt gas separated from liquid via the gas exhaust pipe (43) to the outside of the breather chamber (31), the breather chamber (31) is formed as a single space with no labyrinth wall, and an inlet (43a) of the gas exhaust pipe (43) is provided at the center of the breather chamber (31). In a portion of the gas exhaust pipe (43) located in the breather chamber (31), a small hole (44) is provided for communicating the breather chamber (31) with a gas passage (43c) in the gas exhaust pipe (43).
