<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact actuator of a valve lift adjusting device which reduces a load on a worm gear. <P>SOLUTION: A motor 20 rotates a motor shaft 21. A worm 30 is disposed coaxially with the motor shaft 21 and has a helical screw tooth part 32 formed on an outer circumference thereof. A wheel 40 has a wheel shaft 41 perpendicular to the shaft of the worm 30, a first tooth part 42 formed on its outer circumference and meshing with the screw tooth part 32, and is rotated by the rotation of the worm 30. A first gear 50 is disposed coaxially with the wheel 40 and has a second tooth part 52 on its outer circumference and rotates with the wheel 40. A second gear 60 has a third tooth part 62 on its outer circumference meshing with the second tooth part 52, and is rotated by the rotation of the first gear 50. An output shaft 70 is disposed coaxially with the second gear 60, and adjusts a lift amount of at least one of an intake valve and an exhaust valve. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
