SOA-PLC HYBRID INTEGRATED CIRCUIT WITH POLARIZATION DIVERSITY AND PRODUCTION METHOD THEREFOR

The present invention provides a SOA-PLC hybrid integrated circuit with polarization diversity, which is provided with a SOA-COS and a PLC-PBS chip with mutually connected waveguides. The PLC-PBS chip includes first and second optical waveguides, a Mach-Zehnder interferometer circuit, and a half-wave plate formed in the first silica-based optical waveguide, through which TM mode light propagates. The SOA-COS includes a third optical waveguide connected to the first optical waveguide, a fourth optical waveguide connected to the second optical waveguide, and a SOA formed on at least one of the third and fourth optical waveguides. The ends of the third and fourth optical waveguides not respectively connected with the first and second optical waveguides are connected by a U-turn section optical waveguide.
