<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an optical film continuously and efficiently, and capable of preventing the occurrence of resin remainder in a casting mold without incurring any trouble such as defects. <P>SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing an optical film includes: a coating step for coating a coating slip containing an active energy ray-curable resin on a continuously conveyed base film 11 to form a coating layer 12; a first curing step for irradiating active energy ray from the side of the coating layer 12 to a top area A of the coating layer 12; and a second curing step for irradiating the active energy ray from the side of the base film 11 to the coating layer 12 while pressing the surface of a casting mold against the surface of the coating layer 12.
