<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a bearing ring, for uniformly forming a quench-hardened layer by induction hardening over the entire periphery along a rolling surface while suppressing the manufacturing cost of a quenching apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the bearing ring of a rolling bearing includes: a step (S10) of preparing a formed body which is constituted of a steel including 0.95 to 1.10% carbon, 0.40 to 0.70% silicon, 0.90 to 1.15% manganese, 0.90 to 1.20% chromium, and the balance iron with impurities; a step (S30) for forming an annular heated region which has been heated to a temperature of a point A<SB POS="POST">1</SB>or higher in the formed body, by relatively rotating an induction heating member that is disposed to face a part of the annular region that is to be the rolling face of the bearing ring in the formed body along the circumferential direction of an annular region and that performs induction heating of the formed body; and a step (S40) of simultaneously cooling the whole heated region to a temperature of a point Ms or lower. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
