<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten WJP (Water Jet Peening) work time by minimizing the scanning distance of an injection nozzle when a workpiece to be subjected to WJP is thoroughly worked. <P>SOLUTION: The nozzle is moved to a starting position (S15), and a high-pressure pump 5 is started. Optimum supply pressure and standoff are searched and set (S16 to S25). When the nozzle scans in an X shaft direction, distribution of shock wave generating positions and WJP width are calculated (S32), and scanning pitch in an axial direction is set (S36). When the nozzle reaches an end position in the X shaft direction, scanning is stopped, and the nozzle is scanned in a Y shaft direction by the scanning pitch set in S36 (S38). Such rectangular scanning in the X and Y shaft directions is repeated (S31 to S39). When the nozzle reaches a scanning end position, the high-pressure pump is stopped (S40), and work is terminated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
