<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contact probe excellent in assemblability and electric performance, and capable of adjusting an off-set amount between a central axis and a contact position, and to provide a socket having the contact probe. <P>SOLUTION: When a base end side columnar part 21 engages with a throttle part 402, a tip side columnar part 29 can swing making the base end side columnar part 21 a base point. A swing amount B of the tip side columnar part 29 is determined by a length of the tip side columnar part 29 and an inner diameter (aperture diameter) of a tube 4.
