The objective of the present invention is to implement a structure for a toroidal continuously variable transmission with which the manufacturing of the parts, the management of parts, and the assembly work are easy, and the cost can easily be reduced, and the gear change operation can be stabilized. This toroidal continuously variable transmission is equipped with: a retention hole (28) having a circular cross section and formed on one portion of each outer ring (16f); a columnar anchor pin (26), a portion of which protrudes from the inner surface of a concave part (23e) of the outer ring (16f) when inserted into and secured in the retention hole (28) with an interference fit; and an anchor groove (27) that is formed in a cylindrical convex surface (22e) of the support beam part (9f) of each trunnion (7f), and is formed in the circumferential direction of this cylindrical convex surface (22e). A portion of the anchor pin (26) engages the anchor groove (27), and at this engagement part the torque applied to a power roller (6a) in conjunction with the rotation of input-side and output-side disks (2, 5) can be supported. |
