The method involves outputting a first part of information on a specific display device of a combination instrument (3) of a vehicle (1). A second part of the information is transmitted to a mobile device (5) depending on distance and direction to a danger point. The mobile device is provided with a display unit (6), where the mobile device is not fixed and installed in the vehicle and independent of the operation of the vehicle. A third part of the information is displayed on a display device (8) when the distance to the danger point falls below predetermined threshold. An independent claim is also included for a device for outputting information in a vehicle comprising a display device.
